Day One: Arrival in Tunis

On your arrival in Carthage International Airport, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel for the overnight. Depending on your time of arrival, you may visit the old medina with the charming architecture to the picturesque souks. Dinner and overnight at Dar Ben Gacem

Day Two: Bardo Museum, Carthage, Sidi Bou Said

This morning, you will visit the National Museum of Bardo. The Bardo Museum contains some the most complete ancient Roman Mosaics in the entire world. Then go to explore the famous ruins of Carthage where the guide will take you to the Phoenician Cemetery, Antonin’s Bath, Punic Harbors, Museum and more. If time permits, you may drive up to the beautiful Sidi Bou Said, which overlooks the Gulf of Tunis. Dinner and overnight at Dar Ben Gacem

Day Three: Tunis to Kairouan and Sousse

Today after your breakfast, you will visit the historical city of Kairouan. Don’t forget to check on the amazing mosque of Sidi Okba, ancient medina, and Aghlabiden pool. Then in the afternoon, proceed to Sousse. Take a walk through the old medina or a carriage ride along the coast or relax in the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Movenpick Resort and Marine Spa.

Day Four: Sousse to El Jem, Sfax and Djerba

Another exciting day, you will visit one of Tunisia’s most spectacular sites known as El Jem. Think about the life in gladiator times as you climb the stairs of the coliseum or explore the dungeon and examine the ancient cage elevators. Then continue through Sfax, stopping to visit the Sfax synagogue and medina. After a short ferry ride, proceed to Djerba. Dinner and overnight at Radisson Hotel.

Day Five: Djerba

On this day, you will visit La Ghriba Synagogue of Djerba. It is an important pilgrimage site for Jewish communities of North Africa and has one of the oldest Torahs in the world. Then go to the village of Hara Kabira, a Jewish village. Hara Kabira has around a dozen synagogues and many are still in use today. During your walking tour of the “hara”, you will stop at the communal oven of the Jewish community and hear about Shabbat meals and learn about the role of Jewish education in Djerba today. Many Jewish merchants continue to work in the town market, Homt Souk. Dinner and overnight at Radisson Hotel.

Day Six: Djerba

This morning, you will head off to Guellala to visit the Museum of Popular Arts and Culture. Here you will enjoy learning about the island’s inhabitants and culture. Afternoon at leisure or you can go and attend the optional Havdalah Service. Dinner and overnight at Radisson Hotel

Day Seven: Fly Out

After breakfast, the guide will drive you to the airport to connect to your international flight back home.
