Day One: Arrival in Tunis
On your arrival in Carthage International Airport, you will be wecoled by the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris who will then take to the hotel for the overnight.If you arrive early, you can explore the old medina (ancient city) of Tunis and experience the charming architecture to the picturesque souks (markets), the ancient medina. Dinner and overnight at Dar Ben Gacem.
Day Two: Bardo Museum, Carthage, Sidi Bou Said
This morning after your breakfast, visit the National Museum of Bardo. The Bardo Museum contains some the most complete and ancient Roman Mosaics in the entire world. Proceed to explore the famous ruins of Carthage. Your guide will take you to the Phoenician Cemetery, Antonin’s Bath, Punic Harbors, the Carthage Museum and more. Given enough time, you can drive up to the beautiful Sidi Bou Said, which overlooks the Gulf of Tunis. Dinner and overnight at Dar Ben Gacem.
Day Three: Dougga, Bulla Regia, El Kef
On this day, we will go to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Dougga. One of Tunisia’s best Roman historical sites. Then continue to explore Bulla Regia. This archaeological site has a wonderful display of Roman mosaics and semi-underground housing. Dinner and overnight at Dar Chennoufi.
Day Four: Makthar, Kairouan
Today, head to explore the Roman site of Makthar. Scattered with temples, arches and amphitheaters which gives a glimpse into the Roman life. Next you will move on to the spiritual capital of Tunisia, Kairouan and visit the mosque of Sidi Okba, the ancient medina, and the Aghlabid pool. Dinner and overnight at La Kasbah
Day Five: Sbeitla, Mides, Tamerza, Tozeur
Have early breakfast and head to Sbeitla, another Tunisia’s ancient Roman sites. Then later, proceed to the desert region. Have a stop at the famous mountain oasis town of Tamerza. You will also visit the impressive gorge and canyon of Mides. Dinner and overnight at Tamerza Palace.
Day Six: Tamerza, Metlaoui, Chebika, Tozeur
After breakfast, drive and continue exploring the desert region. Go to the famous “Lezard Rouge” train that will take you through the majestic Seldja Gorge near Metlaoui. After lunch you will visit the mountain oasis town of Chebika and it’s sparkling waterfalls. Dinner and overnight at Dar Saida Beya
Day Seven: Tozeur, ONG Jemel, Sahara
In the morning, visit the city of Tozeur. Check on the oasis where some of the most succulent dates in the world are grown and explore the city with unique architecture. Tozeur will make you experience the desert charm. Dinner and overnight at Tented Camp Zmel.
Day Eight: Desert, Camel Trek, Ksar Ghilane
After breakfast, proceed south into the Sahara Desert to the oasis town of Ksar Ghilane. Upon arrival at the tented camp, you will check in before heading off to explore the region, you may want to enjoy a swim in the warm springs. In the afternoon, you will drive and set out over the dunes to a nearby ksar.
Day Nine: Chenini, Douiret, Tataouine, Ksar Ouled Soltane, Djerba
Today, you will set off to the island of Djerba. The morning and afternoon will be spent in the Tataouine region exploring some of the Berber ksars. Chenini, Douiret, and Ksar Ouled Soltane. Upon arrival at the Island of Djerba, you will check in and enjoy some time on the beach. Dinner and overnight at Radisson Hotel
Day Ten: Djerba Island
You have a day today for leisure to enjoy the beach. You can go for the optional day excursion around the Island of Djerba visiting the Houmt Souk, Medenine, and Guellala. Djerba also hosts the El Ghriba synagogue, which is over 2,000 years old. Dinner and overnight at Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse
Day Eleven: Mareth Military Museum, El Jem, Sousse
For this day, you will go for the magnificent coliseum of El Jem. Perhaps Tunisia’s most spectacular site. Imagine the life of the gladiator times while discovering the history of El Jem. You can also stop by Mareth where you can visit Rommel’s bunker for World war 2. Then visit the coastal city of Sousse. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Day Twelve: Sousse – Leisure
It’s an easy day, after breakfast you can relax in Sousse or take an excursion to one of the surrounding areas. Sousse was founded in 800 BC, so there is plenty of history to been seen in this ancient city. The Great Mosque, the archeological museum and the “Good Shepard” catacombs all tell a story of Sousse’s ancient past. Dinner and overnight at Dar Ben Gacem
Day Thirteen: Nabeul, Kerkouane, Haouaria, Tunis
On this day, you will head north through the Cap Bon peninsula through the coastal town of Nabeul, which is Tunisia’s pottery capital. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kerkouane, which boasts some of the best-preserved ruins of the Punic era. Haouaria is situated at the tip of the peninsula and boasts a majestic coastline. The later drive to Tunis. Dinner will be in the hotel.
Day Fourteen: Fly Out
After breakfast, the guide will transfer you to the airport to catch your flight back home.
