Day One: Arrival
On your arrival at the airport in Kigali, you will be welcome by your tour guide who will then transfer you to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel Kigali or Hotel Des Mil Coline. Bed and breakfast
Day Two: Kigali
After breakfast, go for the city tour where you will visit Ntarama and Nyamata Genocide Memorial and visit the genocide memorial center in Kigali then later transfer to Bugesera in the afternoon to visit the reconciliation village. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel Kigali or Hotel Des Mil Coline. Bed and breakfast
Day Three: Akagera
After breakfast, transfer to Kirehe and visit Imigongo and practice ancient artisanry in the region, watch the waterfalls in Rusumo (Border between Tanzania and Rwanda). Then later transfer to Akagera National Park. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge. Full board
Day Four: Akagera
After your breakfast, go for the morning game drive. Then later take a boat ride on Lake Ihema to see crocodiles, schools of hippos and over 50 species of water birds : Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge. Full board.
Day Five: Kigali
Early morning breakfast, the go for the game drive before you transfer to Kigali in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel Kigali or Hotel Des Mil Coline. Bed and breakfast
Day Six: Ruhengeri
Depart and head for Ruhengeri for the ethno botany experience. Afternoon go to the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, visit bee hive locations. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla view, Sylva Back Lodge, Virunga Volcanoes Lodges (High end) or La Palme, (Medium range) or Kinigi guest House (Basic accommodation)
Day Seven: Gorilla Tracking
Early morning breakfast then transfer to the Kinigi headquarters for briefing and allocation of the gorilla group as you experience traditional dancers and learn about Rwandan drumming, singing and dancing. Then go to the forest for gorilla tracking returning in time for lunch. Later in the afternoon at the Ebi’wachu where you learn about Rwanda’s tradition. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla view, Sylva Back Lodge, Virunga Volcanoes Lodges (High end) or La Palme, (Medium range) or Kinigi guest House (Basic accommodation
Day Eight: Gisenyi
Leave after your breakfast to Gisenyi and visit the fishing village, hot springs, visit DRC-Rwanda border (Gisenyi town) and relax at the lake side in the evening. Overnight at Serena Lake Kivu or Stepp Hotel. Full board
Day Nine: Kibuye
After your healthy breakfast, depart for Kibuye visiting Bisesero genocide memorial, Kibuye church and Nyange school genocide memorial. Then in the afternoon, take a boat to Amahoro Island, the Island of Peace. Overnight at a recommended hotel in Kibuye.
Day Ten: Cyangugu/Kamembe
Early morning boat transfer to Cyangugu Kamembe town by boat. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge or Gisakura Guest House. Full board.
Day Eleven: Nyungwe
You need to wake up very early to go for Chimp trekking in the morning returning in time for lunch. After you lunch, you can relax at your room. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge or Gisakura Guest House. Full board.
Day Twelve: Butare
Early morning visit the waterfalls or Kamiranzovu swamps to view other species of primates e.g. the black and white Colobus monkeys, mountain monkeys. Transfer to Butare in the afternoon. Overnight at recommended hotel.
Day Thirteen: Butare
An early breakfast, visit the Cathedral of Kabgayi, the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza and National Museum. Optional visit to the women drumming and dancing group. Overnight at a recommended hotel in the area.
Day Fourteen: Kigali
Depart after breakfast and head for Kigali. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel Kigali or Hotel Des Mil Coline. Bed and breakfast
Day Fifteen:
Have breakfast and then does some Souvenir shopping in local handcraft markets and transfer to the airport.
