This safari will take you to the streets of Rabat, the blue and whitewashed buildings of Chefchaouen, Fez and to Marrakech.

Day One – Arrival

Upon your arrival in Casablanca, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Sofitel Hotel.

 

Day Two – City tour

This morning, we will visit the residential area of Anfadistrict, Ain Diab to stroll the famous Boulevard de la Cornich, Casablanca’s Atlantic boardwalk, Mohammed V Square and the gorgeous mosque of Hassan II. Then drive Rabat which is filled with fine sultan’s palaces, mosques and centuries-old ramparts, Oudaia Kasbah, a heavily fortified town – a medina within the medina complete with mosques, souks. Later, we will visit the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and Hassan Tower, the site of Sultan Yacoub el Mansour’sfailing to create the largest mosque in the world. Viewing the oldest part of the city Chellah Necropolis which is  dating from the time of Almohads, here you also find many ruins of the Roman Empire. Dinner and overnight at Riad Zyo.

 

Day Three Leisure and afternoon to Chefchaouen

You will have a free morning and in the afternnon, we will head to Chefchaouen. Dinner and overnight at Ryad Lina.

 

 

Day FourChefchaouen city tour  then to Fez

On this day, we will have a morning tour of Chefchaouen city with the pale blue and whitewashed buildings. Chefchaouen was here that many Jews and Moors fled during the Spanish war. We will make a short hike to the ruin of the Spanish mosque with its panoramic view, visit the Ras el-Ma, where city’s fresh water springs from the mountain and a stroll through the wonderfully restored kasbahand gardens. Then later transfer to Fes. Dinner and overnight at Riad Al Amine Fes.

 

Day Five – Fez

This morning will be spent by visiting Fez, Morocco’s oldest Islamic City. Our visit will include Bab Boujelod, Moorish impressive gate with arches and calligraphy, Bou Inania Medersa splendidly decorated with tiles, marble and onyx built by the Marinid dynasty, 9th-century Kairaouine mosque, Nejjarine Fountain, fortified mellah Jewish quarter.  We will view many of the souk places too such as ouk Nejjarine – known for its woodwork, Souk Attarine for spices and medicine and of course Tanners quarter where you can enjoy an array of colours where leather is made and dyed.  For the best views of Fes visit the Marinid tombs outside the city.

Day Six Visit Meknes then go to Marrakech

We will have breakfast and then drive to Versailles of Morocco’s Meknes. Our visit to the city will include Bab Mansour, one of the finest ornamented gates in Morocco, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the resting place of admirer and most prolific builder of Meknes. Haras de Meknes – huge stable complex, HabsQara the  underground cells that were allegedly used to house the sultan’s army of slaves. Later proceed to Marrakech. Dinner and overnight at Riad Ksar Anika.

 

Day Seven – Marrakech

Another exciting day by visiting Marrakesh, starting in the medina, the old walled section of town and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at its architectural jewels, including the soaring Koutoubia minaret and Dar Si Said; housed in a palace, it is among the most beautiful of its kind in the world. Proceed to the Bahia Palace, an exemplary specimen of privileged life in the 19th century. Visit Djemaa el-Fna, Marrakech’s main square, which is filled with orange juice stalls and vendors, along with fire-eaters, mime artists, snake charmers and street musicians performing. We will also visit the souks. Dinner and overnight at Riad Ksar Anika.

 

Day Eight – Essaouira

On this day, we will visit the Essaouira, a relaxed town set 3 hours from Marrakech, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site – a protected city. The ramparts of Essaouria and the 16th-century walled city offer astonishing views of the Atlantic Ocean. A day trip to Essaouria – one of the most charming medinas in all of Morocco – will give you ample time to visit the important monuments, the old fish markets, and the seaport. You’ll also have a chance to watch silver craftsmen and woodcarvers at work. Dinner and overnight at Riad Ksar Anika.

 

Day Nine – Depart from Marrakech / Casablanca

After your breakfast, depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to the Marrakech airport or Casablanca airport to catch your flight back home.
