This trip in Morocco will take you to the cultural capital Fez, the beautiful city of Chefchaouen, sleeping in a deluxe tent in the desert, Marrakech.
Day One – Casablanca – Fez
When you arrive in Casablanca, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Riad Al Amine Fes.
Day Two – Fez
This morning, you will head for Fez, the cultural city, its considered to be one of the most complete Islamic cities in the world. Enormous theosophical colleges, beautiful mosques and fascinating souks. We chose to have a walk to some of the areas of interest like a Place an-Nejjarine, where an ancient caravanserai overlooks a fountain; check outside the great Qayrawan mosque, passing 14th-century merchant’s shops; or head to the tanneries – where leather is stained in vats of strikingly coloured dyes. Day Three – Day trip to Chefchaouen
On this day after breakfast, we will head to Chefchaouen. Chefchaouen is a charming place with strong Andalusian connections. It was here that many Jews and Moors fled during the Spanish Inquisition. We will have a short hike to the ruin of the Spanis mosque with its fantastic panoramic view. a visit to the Ras el-Ma, where the city’s freshwater springs from the mountain; and a stroll through the wonderfully restored kasbah and gardens. Dinner and overnight at Riad Al Amine Fes.
Day Four – Merzouga and Erg Chebbi dunes
Toda after the breakfast, you will drive to Erg Chebbi Dunes via Merzouga. You will go through the city of Midelt and descend into the Ziz Valley oasis. The sand sea of Merzouga, a beautiful area of fine, apricot-colored sand stretches as far as the eye can see will be greeted with mint tea and fresh dates or nuts. Enjoy dinner followed by campfire. Dinner and overnight at Desert Luxury Camp.
Day Five – Nekob to Draa Valley
Hve breakfast and head to Draa Valley via Nekob while taking pictures of the sunrise over the Sahara dunes. You can ride or walk alongside as you slip into the pace of the caravan led by Berber guides and marvel at the awesome spectacle of the desert and the solitude a silence that comes with it. Then have picnic lunch in the desert camp and then proceed to the longest river valley of Morocco. Continue to the Sahro volcanic mountains. The region is dotted with Kasbahs, mud-brick villages, and fertile valleys. Alnif is known as the best place to hunt for fossils and ancient stone carvings. Nekob is the most Kasbah-filled village in Morocco. Little past Nekob we arrive at the oasis in the Draa Valley one of Morocco’s beautiful oases. The area boasts a rich concentration of date palms, and almond, fig and olive trees. Dinner and overnight at Dar Hnini.
Day Six – Agdz, Ouarzazate, Ait BenHaddou to Marrakech
This is the day to get back to Marrakesh after breakfast. W e will drive through the valley and many of the Biblical Sub Saharan villages. From Agdz we cross the road along the baren mountains landscape reaching Ouarzazate and further the Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the most extraordinary mudbrick cities in the world. Used as location for Hollywood films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Jewel of the Nile, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and more recently Gladiator, Ait Ben Haddou sits upon a lofty pinnacle of rock overlooking a river. Dating from the 15th century, its importance as a trading post gradually waned. The later drive through High Atlas Mountains, and the views get more and more impressive and arrive in Marrakech. Day Seven – Marrakech guided walking tour
The Marrakesh city, dating from the 11the century will give an impression of history, culture. It has a breathtaking architecture of the renowned Koutoubia Minaret the Djema El Fna, at the heart of the medina. Enjoy the city on a guided walk led by your guide.
Dinner and overnight at Riad Reves D’ Orient.
Day Eight – Fly out
Enjoy the breakfast and depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
