Alexandria Tour
Day One: Arrival in Cairo
Upon your arrival in Cairo airport, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will welcome you and transfer you by an A/C car to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
Day Two: Visit the Great Pyramids and Egyptian Museum
This morning after your breakfast, you will visit the Egyptian Museum of antiquities. On display is a rare collection of 5000 years of art the largest most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world. Over 250,000 genuine artifacts are presented, including an exhibit dedicated to the Tutankhamen collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry, as it was enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before it was discovered in the 1920s when his tomb was excavated. Then visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren & Mykerions. Cheops is the most colossal ever built. Next is a close-up look at Sphinx – a huge funeral complex guarded by the legendary lion body with the face of king Chephren. Later, drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. You have an optional evening trip to enjoy you dinner on board a Nile cruise for 2 hours including watching Egyptian folk shows. Overnight in Cairo.
Day Three: Alexandria Tour
Today after breakfast, the guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Alexandria. Visit the library of Alexandria which the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Visit it’s open court and free museums. Please note that Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays and on every public holiday. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase an extra ticket.
Then visit the Site of the Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World on which now stands the castle of Qaitbey. Visit the royal gardens of King Farouk (the last king in the history of Egypt) and see the royal palaces of Haramlek and Salamlek as well as the royal beaches of the queens. Continue by visiting the the Abbo Elabbas Mosque, as well as the memorial of the unknown Soldier of Alexandria and the statue of Alexander the Great.
Have lunch and then visit the church of St. Mark – the oldest church in Africa before driving along the Cornish to see the whole city of Alexandria from the sea side which includes the old harbor of Alexandria where we found 7000 monuments underwater.
Stop over the famous bridge of Stanley – the modern landmark of modern Alexandria, before visiting the old downtown of Alexandria and walking through the old city-center of Alexandria which was built by Alexander the great. Later drive back to your hotel in Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
Day Four: Fly Out
After breakfast, the guide will drive you to the airport to catch your flight back home.
