Day One: Arrival in Antananarivo

Upon your arrival in Antananarivo, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will pick you up and take you to the hotel for the overnight.

 

Day Two: Ile Sainte Marie

On this first day, you will drive back to the airport for your flight to the Ile Sainte Marie. Upon landing, you be taken to Princesse Bora Lodge. Relax in the afternoon or go for the optional activities around the lodge.

 

Day Three: Ile Sainte Marie

This morning. You will explore some of the stunning coastline. There is a number of excursions to some of the smaller surrounding islands including Ile aux Nattes, at the southern tip of the main island. Here you can snorkel amongst the colourful fish, stroll along the white sandy beaches and visit the lighthouse for some great views over the entire island.

 

Day Four: Ile Sainte Marie

Today, you can visit the nearby Pirate Cemetery, go snorkelling at Ampanhiny or simply relax in the beautiful hotel grounds.

 

Day Five: Antananarivo

In the afternoon, you will head back to the airport for your flight to Antananarivo. This evening you may like to enjoy dinner in one of the many local restaurants in the city.

 

Day Six: Ifotaka Community Forest

You will fly to Fort Dauphin in the south. You will be met by a driver  who will take you to Mandrare River Camp. You will visit magnificent sand dunes on your way with a stop for picnic lunch. Relax in the afternoon.

 

Day Seven: Ifotaka Community Forest

There are numerous activities to enjoy from Mandrare River Camp. Go for a walk in the sacred forest – good chances of seeing lemurs, chameleons and the birds of the southern Madagasacar.

 

Day Eight: Ifotaka Community Forest

In the morning, you will go for forest walks again and in the afternoon, you can visit the local village and meet with the ombiasy or get involved with learning how to use a zebu-hide slingshot! The Antandroy tribe are a fascinating people and you will gain a unique insight into their culture.

 

Day Nine: Antananarivo

Have a leisurely breakfast and then transfer back to Fort Dauphin. Then catch your flight back to Antananarivo and will have the evening to relax at your hotel.

 

Day Ten: Anjajavy Private Nature Reserve

Take another flight from Ivato Airport to connet your flight to Anjajavy.. This afternoon you may wish to relax by the pool to recover from your flight and enjoy tea in the Oasis in the early evening.

 

Day Eleven: Anjajavy Private Nature Reserve

This morning, you will go to explore some of the wildlife that Anjajavy hosts, the dry reserve is home to numerous lemur species as well as lots of crabs, reptiles and different flora. You may also like to go out on a night walk this evening enjoying the nocturnal wildlife and hopefully spotting some tiny mouse lemurs.

 

Day Twelve: Anjajavy Private Nature Reserve

Today you will be able to explore the private stretch of coastline that belongs to Anjajavy. Relax in a secluded cove or perhaps try some snorkelling.

 

Day Thirteen: Anjajavy Private Nature Reserve

You will visit the Moramba Bay. This trip is a wonderful way to explore the wild and untouched coastline full of unusual flora, bird life and if you are lucky, spot some dolphins.

 

Day Fourteen: Anjajavy Private Nature Reserve

After your breakfast, you will visit a local village and learn more about rural life here or alternatively simply spend the day snoozing by the pool and enjoying the beautiful grounds.

 

Day Fifteen: International return flight

Enjoy your breakfast this last morning in Madagasacar, then you will be taken to Anjajavy airstrip and fly to Antananarivo for onward connection back home.
