Day One: Arrival in Algiers
Upon your arrival, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. Depending on your time of arrival, you may go for the city tour on foot.
Days Two: Djemila
After breakfast we will drive east to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Djemila to visit one of the best preserved ancient Roman cities in North Africa. From here we’ll drive to Constantine for the night.
Day Three: Constantine
This morning, we will visit the hill-side Roman site of Tiddis, returning to Constantine for a guided tour in the afternoon. The ‘City of Bridges’ is an architectural triumph and we’ll tour around old town and see the casbah along with the Palace of Ahmed Bey.
Day Four: Timgad, Lambaesis and Batna
Today after breakfast, we will drive south to visit the impressive UNESCO World Heritage site of Timgad, then continue to the Roman ruins at Lambaesis and on to Batna.
Days Five: Algiers and Ghardaia
After breakfast, we will drive back to Algiers and head to the airport for our late afternoon flight down to Ghardaia.
Day Six: Ghardaia
The whole of this day will be spent exploring Ghardaia and the surrounding Mzab Valley, including the impressive fortified town of Beni Isguen.
Day Seven: Ghardaia
This will be the second full day to explore Ghardaia and the surrounding Mzab Valley.
Days Eight: Timimoun
Today we wake early for the long drive across the Sahara with beautiful desert scenery.
Day Nine: Timimoun
We will take a full day to explore Timimoun and the surrounding area including the caves and the village of Tindjillet.
Day Ten: Beni Abbes and Taghit
After breakfast, we will head to the ‘White Oasis’ town of Beni Abbes to visit the hermitage of Father Charles de Foucauld, then continue to Taghit for the night.
Days Eleven: Bechar and Oran
This will be a free morning to visit around the oasis town of Taghit and the surrounding desert dunes, then drive to Bechar for our late afternoon flight to Oran.
Day Twelve: Oran
Awe will use the full day in Algeria’s second city of Oran, visiting key sites such as La Cathedrale du Sacre Coeur and Santa Cruz fort.
Day Thirteen: Tipaza and Algiers
After breakfast, we will head east on the train, stopping off to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tipaza on the Mediterranean coast.
Day Fourteen: Algeria city tour
This morning, we will head out on a guided tour of Algiers, focusing upon the ancient Casbah.
Day Fifteen: Fly out
After your breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
