This Ethiopia holiday takes you to the south of the country, to the Rift Valley lakes, South Omo and to the Bale Mountains.

Day One: Arrival

Upon your arrival, the guide from Afrikan Wildlife Safaris will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel for the overnight.

 

Day Two: Lake Ziway

This morning, we will check out the abundant birdlife from the fishing jetty. Then later,  take a boat trip to Tulu Gudo Island to see its ancient monastery.

 

Day Three: Lake Langano

We may decide to spend the whole day at the beach, or do some water activities of the area.

 

Day Four:  Abijata-Shala National Park

We will drive to Abijata Shala National Park near Langano  both for its aquatic birdlife and the dramatic Rift Valley landscapes.

 

Day Five: Hawassa

We will head to South Ethiopia’s largest town is orderly and modern, and blessed with a gorgeous setting on a lake rimmed by monkey-filled forests.

 

Day Six, Seven and Eight: Bale Mountains National Park

We will spend three nights here to experience the high plateaus and forests of this misty stronghold of the endangered Ethiopian wolf and mountain Nyala.

 

Day Nine: Nechisar National Park

On this day, you will explore the best wildlife destination in the Ethiopian Rift Valley.

 

Day Ten: Karat (Konso)

After your breakfast, you will visit the Konso Museum and the fortified hilltop village of Mecheke.

 

Day Eleven:  South Omo

This morning, you will continue southwest to this fascinating repository of traditional cultures.

 

Day Twelve: Fly out

Get your breakfast and later transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
